Why Sukabumi Stone Tiles Are the Ultimate Luxury Choice for Stunning Pools

Sukabumi stone, also known as Pedra Hijau Verde, is a type of quartz stone sourced from quarries in the Sukabumi region of Java, Indonesia. These natural Sukabumi stone tiles are renowned for their emerald green colour, making them a popular choice for pool paving, fountains, and other water features due to their excellent adaptation to aquatic environments. The stone is also celebrated for its strength, durability, and resistance to freezing.

Enhance the Aesthetic Appeal and Wellness of Your Pool with Sukabumi Stone Tiles

From world-famous resorts in Indonesia to luxury hotels in Thailand, Dubai, Spain, and beyond, Sukabumi tiles are recognized as one of the best materials for pools. The stone’s unique emerald green hue is due to the presence of minerals like iron and chlorite. This volcanic stone absorbs water, emitting a vibrant green colour that enhances the pool’s aesthetic.

Sukabumi stone also contains Zeolite, a natural mineral that acts as a purifier by absorbing heavy metals, pollutants, and unpleasant odours, making your pool more eco-friendly and healthier. Zeolite forms when seawater and groundwater interact with lava, and while it takes between 50 to 10,000 years to develop, it can be highly effective in detoxifying your pool without replacing cleaning systems.

Exploring Indonesia's Precious Stone: Sukabumi Stone – From Extraction to Final Product

Unlike other natural stones, Sukabumi stone is not quarried in large blocks but rather in smaller sizes, typically ranging from 30 to 60 cm. This makes producing larger tiles challenging, with standard sizes limited to 10×10, 15×15, and 20×20 cm. The quarries contain numerous iron nodules and layers, leading to significant color variations from light green to dark brown. Only a few quarries can consistently produce stable colors without brown discoloration. Due to the nature of the material, cutting the tiles perfectly flat is extremely difficult, requiring special care during installation to prevent water from seeping behind the stone and affecting the cement holding it in place.
